PSICODELIX Brazil–Switzerland Initiative
PSICODELIX Brazil–Switzerland Initiative
Mental Health, Addiction Recovery and International Research Collaboration
The PSICODELIX Brazil–Switzerland Initiative is a proposal for scientific, educational and institutional cooperation focused on mental health, addiction recovery, community-based care, psychotherapy, neuropsychology, digital monitoring and responsible psychedelic science.
The initiative seeks to connect Swiss scientific expertise with Brazilian experience in therapeutic communities, substance use disorder recovery, psychosocial support and longitudinal follow-up.
The Brazilian Context
Brazil faces significant challenges related to alcohol and other substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma, social vulnerability and relapse after treatment.
Many individuals receive support through therapeutic communities, psychosocial services, community organizations and faith-based recovery initiatives. However, recovery outcomes are not always documented through standardized and longitudinal scientific methods.
Brazilian Observatory for Mental Health and Addiction Recovery
The initiative proposes a Brazilian Observatory for Mental Health and Addiction Recovery to organize longitudinal, non-interventional research involving adults receiving care through participating therapeutic communities and mental health organizations.

Proposed Pilot Study
Longitudinal Observational Study of Mental Health and Addiction Recovery Outcomes in Brazilian Therapeutic Communities
The proposed pilot would follow adult participants from admission through treatment and, whenever feasible, after discharge. Potential assessment points include baseline, 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, discharge, three-month, six-month and twelve-month follow-up. The initial study would involve no experimental administration of psychedelic substances.
